Founded in 1919 by J.W. Murray to produce small metallurgical equipment, the company extended its production to toys in 1923, under the Steelcraft Wheel Goods brand. This success enabled the company to overcome the Great Depression with the production of small cars, aeroplanes, etc.
From 1941, Steelcraft took part in the war effort.
From 1945, it resumed its various activities, but abandoned the toy business in the 1970s.
